First weeks at home

We came home from the hospital when the baby was just 3 days old. It was kind of scary, because with Lina we stayed at the hospital 8 days and we had already developed nice daily routines with her. But of course, in general, with this little guy we are more confident since we've been through this already once.

Kauppi just had two weeks of paternity leave. Having him around the house has been very helpful, of course with taking care of the baby too, but first of all, with entertaining Lina while I have been tied up with the baby. Lina has been in the day care as usual, too. I think she has enjoyed that she can continue with her own activities without everyone fussing about the baby all the time.

Here are some new images of the boy (we still haven't decided what name we should give him...). All the photos here are from our place, since I didn't leave the apartment for the first week...

We have had guests visiting us, for example Kauppi's sister Heini:

Kauppi's brother and his family (here are the cousins Iida and Ella):

Daddy is Lina's new best friend:

Hooray! This one takes the pacifier! (Lina never did, which meant countless hours of carrying her around in our arms when she was a baby.)

Taking a nap:

It's a tradition for dads to go out with his male friends and relatives to celebrate the birth. They smoke cigars and drink few (read: lots of) beers. And I got to test my skills in taking care of two children for one evening... It was not very easy, that I can tell you.
