The christening of Teo Kasper

We had the christening ceremony at Tapiola church on July, 22nd.
The priest who wed us in 2004 and christened Lina in 2005, had already retired, so we chose a new, young priest to perform the ceremony. And like the predecessor, this priest too was a female. (This is my way of showing support for the ordination of women, which still has been disputed by some conservative groups in Finland.)

The ceremony was very beautiful, and present were all the relatives and one of the godmothers. I had trouble holding my tears back, as I always get very moved by these kind of events...

Our son was christened Teo Kasper. We found the name in a book of baby names, so it doesn't have any particular story behind it - we simply just liked the name.

Here's a photo of the baptizing:

After the baptizing, the godmother Ani wiped Teo's head with a small cloth:

A family portrait (without Lina, who was running around in the church...):

After the ceremony, Teo slipped into something more comfortable (yet festive!):

We had some coffee and cake:

The kids enjoyed themselves in the playroom next door:

Teo received very nice gifts (the pink t-shirt is a souvenir from Jani and Johanna for Lina from the Azores):

And of course, he spent a lot of time on everyone's lap:
