Winter Sports

On the verge of Spring, I guess it's the last minute chance to show these images... This Winter, we were lucky to have snow for several weeks even here in Southern Finland. So, we got to try different winter sports with Lina, too, which was great. She learned to skate and ski this year. It was a bit rough start, but it paid off, eventually.

This was her first day on skates. Mostly horizontal, as you can see.

Okay, the gloves are off - now let's do some serious skating:

Hooray! She's skating!

Of course, she kept falling, but she was very persistent on getting up again.

Also, she quickly figured out how to maintain balance more easily:

Already speeding!

After this day, she wanted to go skating almost every day/evening. So we took her skating few times after the daycare, when it was already dark. Here's a funny picture taken just a second from hitting the ice.

Having fun with bigger girls:

I found my old skates which I hadn't used since high school, but luckily, skating seems to be like riding a bike; once you learn it, you got it.

The first time on skis didn't go as swell as skating. Resistance was much harder.

We gave it another try on another day, and it was a success. However, Lina preferred skating over skiing, and not once suggested going skiing after this.
