October-November

Hello again!

I seriously need to sharpen up my blog updating intervals... In my previous life in Tokyo, I posted stories if not daily, at least weekly. Now it's been almost two months since my previous post here. I wonder if one of the reason was that life is not as nearly exciting here as it was in Japan. Another reason must be hurry. Now when I'm back at work, days just fly by. When I finally get home, all I do is rest.

Anyway, after this unnecessarily long prologue, here's the news from Finland.

We have actively continued meeting friends and relatives which has been very nice. One of nicest get-togethers of the Autumn was my "mummi"s(= grand-ma's) 80th Anniversary in Hartola (200 km north from Helsinki). Here's a nice shot of us girls in FOUR generations. Not bad!

Here's Lina with her second cousin, Elias.

Lately, the weather has turned very, very nasty here. We have had snow two times or so so far, but unfortunately, it melts down almost immediately to this extremely unpleasant slush which is something between snow and water. The days are getting shorter and shorter as the winter solstice nears. For example, today the day was just 6 hours 15 minutes long. (The sun rose at 9:03 am and set at 3:18 pm.) This means that when I take Lina to the daycare at 8:30 am, it's still night, and when I leave the office at 6 pm, it's night again.

Anyway, one sunny day I took our camera with me and shot few pictures on my way to work. (It was already past 9, thus the sun.)

Very typical, I'd say 1930-40's style building in Helsinki centre:

Lastly, few just random images of Lina (and Kauppi).

Lina sleeping in our bed, again... (one might guess whether this is nowadays a bad habit.)

And she thinks this is fun, too:

Having ...well, fun:
