MattiPappa's 60th Anniversary

Jenni's father Matti (aka MattiPappa) turned 60 this summer, and he arranged a party accordingly. All his siblings and their families (i.e. Jenni's aunts, uncles and cousins) were invited to Matti's and Raija's summer house in Lohja. It was a very nice and warm day, and we had a lots of fun and made good memories.

Right after we arrived, we toasted MattiPappa:

Giving the presents (Jani and me gave him a forest worker's safety outfit):

He also got six spruce saplings and a pear tree:

He also got a traditionally designed pushcart which some decades ago were very common in the Finnish countryside. Back then, they were used for carrying milk cans (and probably lots of other stuff, too). The globalisation has obviously affected these as well: despite its traditional Finnish design this new pushcart was made in South Korea!

Matti and Raija had organised all kind of activities for the day, including a quiz and a tossing game called "Mölkky".

Lina was amazingly energetic during the whole day. We left home around 1 am, and Lina was still up and going. She insisted on taking a pile of papers home with her. She's a huge fan of numbers, and each of these papers had a number written on it (they had been used for the check points in the quiz).
